Dive # 256

Date: June 28, 2006
Time: 5:45pm
Location: Shaw's Cove
Depth (feet): 40
Dive Time (minutes): 51
Surf (feet): 1-2 (occasional 3)
Surge (feet): 1-4
Water Temp (fahrenheit): 52
Visibility (feet): 6-12
Visibility Description: varied...mostly murky
Notes and Highlights: Dove with Josh...COLD COLD COLD...did I mention it was cold? Pretty easy in...one 3 footer snuck up on us but no worries. Visibility was still affected by the swell conditions but it's definitely getting better. Dropped down by the arch, but surge is still a bit too much for safe passage. Found 2 very large morays in a large crack across from "Turn-around Rock"...possibly the bigger morays that I've seen at Shaw's...and two of them very close together (mental note: research mating habit?)...a large sheepcrab that was pretty lethargic...probably as cold as I was. Other than that a pretty uneventful, but relaxing dive. Easy walk-out. Hopefully it'll warm up a bit!
