Dive # 313 - Diving so you don't have to!

Date: March 16, 2007
Time: 8:00am
Location: Diver's Cove
Depth (feet): 26
Dive Time (minutes): 51
Surf (feet): 1-3
Surge (feet): 2-4
Water Temp (fahrenheit): 57
Visibility (feet): 5+
Visibility Description: bad
Notes and Highlights: Dove with Charlie and Steve. Water looked rough from the top, and it wasn't an illusion. Dropped down quick and shallow and into about 5 foot vis. Scared up a couple big bat rays on the way over the sand to the north side of Diver's reef. Stayed shallow, and in the broken-up, scattered portions of the reef, and tried to make the best of the conditions. Charlie did find a Cockerell's Dorid for me (see pic below), and we came across a few sheep crabs that were...well...crabby (I think we "interrupted" a pair of them at one point - that would explain the attitude). Overall - the conditions are pretty bad - rough water, and poor vis - but a good time was had by all...a couple pics, and a short, still-camera video clip of an annoyed sheep crab below:
